I'm thrilled to offer private and semi private throwing experiences from my beautiful studio in the rolling Essex countryside.

During the sessions you will have full use of my studio, including exclusive use of 2 pottery wheels, all equipment and white stoneware clay that I use in my work.
​
The sessions are tailored to your experience, whether you have thrown a pot before, or you are a complete beginner.​​
Private half day experience
​We will start the session with refreshments for you to enjoy while I give a short demonstration on the wheel. You will learn how the wedge clay, centre it on the wheel, and make a simple vessel. I will then encourage you to let your creativity flow, the joy in throwing is as much in the process as it is in the outcome.
​
At the end of the session, you can choose your favourite 3 pieces which I will trim, bisque fire, glaze and glaze fire, in a colour of your choice. These will be ready to collect around 4 weeks later or can be posted (additional cost charged on the day).

The session runs for 2 ½ hours, bookable at a time that suits you, either starting at 10am or 2pm. Sessions at the weekend are more limited and are booked on a first come, first served basis.

Private 2 half day experience
Join me for 2 half-day fully immersive and hands on pottery experience. ​We will start the session with refreshments for you to enjoy while I give a short demonstration on the wheel. You will learn how the wedge clay, centre it on the wheel, and make a simple vessel. I will then encourage you to let your creativity flow, the joy in throwing is as much in the process as it is in the outcome. You will select your 3 favourite pieces, which will be dried to the leather hard stage.

The second day will last approx. 2hrs, and will be booked between a day and 4 days after the initial experience. During this workshop I will teach you how to trim your pots, removing the excess clay from the bases, and refining the shapes.
​
We will then explore different decorating techniques, from slip application, to sgraffito and faceting.
​
I will then fully dry your pieces, bisque fire, glaze and glaze fire, in a colour of your choice. These will be ready to collect around 4 weeks later or can be posted (additional cost charged on the day).

Group hand building workshop - spring flower coasters
​
Come along and make your own set of 4 porcelain coasters, using beautiful fresh seasonal flowers.
​
The workshop will start with refreshments while I demonstrate the mindful technique of pressing flowers and foliage into porcelain clay. I will show you how to prepare the clay, rolling and smoothing the porcelain, before selecting your favourite flowers to position and press into the clay. We will then cut coasters and finish the pieces ready for drying.
​
The coasters will then be dried in the studio, which I will either glaze, or highlight with your choice of underglaze. The pieces will be fired and ready to collect from the studio in around 4 weeks, or can be posted (at an additional cost).
