This one-off large bowl was thrown on the wheel, and the external surface carved with a tiny loop tool when the pot was leather hard.

The surface has then been sanded at the bisque stage to remove any rough edges, and has been left unglazed, resulting in a gorgeously tactile surface, biscuity in colour and in texture. You just can’t help but stroke it.

On the inside I’ve poured both clear glossy and matt grey glazes. Where the two glazes overlap there has been some lovely colour variations and an ombre effect.

The bowl is perfect to be displayed on it's own, used as a table centre piece or as a fruit bowl. It is intended to be a beautiful piece that can be used very day.

The bowl has been fired to 1240 degrees, making it fully dishwasher safe.
